Deep Sea Fishing (Approximately 8 hours) Los Cabos is situated at the tip of the Baja peninsula where the cool waters of the Pacific merge with the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. These waters are known as one of the finest fishing areas in the world! Los Cabos is known as "Marlin Alley," and the "Marlin Capital of the World," and rightfully so. There are more marlin caught (and released) off Los Cabos than in any other place on earth! The rich waters are home to a great variety of marine life including dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays and whale sharks, plus dorado, roosterfish and wahoo... to name just a few. Fishing cruisers range in size from economical 28-foot, 4 passenger Bertrams to the ultimate in fishing luxury, an 86-foot, 8 passenger yacht. We have many different vessels to choose from and strive to find the right fit for your group. Captain, licenses, equipment, bait, box lunches and non-alcoholic beverages are included.
FISHING AND GOLF
FISHING Los Cabos offers some of the most diverse fishing opportunities to be had anywhere in the world. If you were to choose one place with the highest probability of catching the most prized exotic game fish, it would have to be Los Cabos. Year after year, more striped and blue marlin, huge yellow fin tuna, dorado and wahoo are caught (and many released) within 25 miles of the capes of southern Baja California than anywhere else on earth.
Cabo San Lucas is where the warm Sea of Cortez meets the cooler waters of the Pacific Ocean, where a scum line forms and food from both currents is combined and concentrated. Deep canyons ranging from 500 to more than 5,000 feet deep are just a few miles from the Baja coast. This deep chasm forms a perfect vertically integrated habitat for nutrients, plankton, huge amounts of bait fish and, of course, an extremely large and hungry population of marlin and exotic game fish. Water temperature is another factor in producing this abundance of fish. Los Cabos is the bluewater angler's dream and is considered the billfish capital of the world.
EPIC Group will take you straight to this exciting adventure. We will arrange as many sportfishing cruisers as your group may need, providing you with a worry-free fishing package. The Trans Cabo Fishing Package includes round trip transportation, sportfishing cabin cruiser, box lunches, refreshments, and cleaning and bagging of the fish. Fishing cruisers range in size from economical 28-foot, 4 passenger Bertrams to the ultimate in fishing luxury, an 86-foot, 8 passenger yacht. We have many different vessels to choose from and strive to find the right fit for your group. Our suppliers are the best in the business with award winning captains and crew.
Today the word golf is synonymous with Los Cabos. A recent study listing the top 50 world wide golf destinations ranked Los Cabos number 14, a higher position than any single island destination in Hawaii, and above Orlando and Las Vegas. There is no doubt that Los Cabos has been the first to focus on the development of world-class golf in Mexico. The climate and setting are perfect. Golfers are offered many beautiful and challenging courses in the area with amazing views of this intriguing combination of desert and ocean. From humble beginnings at the nine hole Campo de Golf in San José del Cabo, golf has grown to become the number two tourist attraction after sportfishing. All the championship courses are located within the Tourist Corridor with three Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses and designs by Robert Trent Jones II, the Dye Corporation, Tom Weiskopf and Tom Fazio. Los Cabos has been the site of the PGA Grand Slam tournament since 1996, attracting golf greats such as Raymond Floyd, Dave Stockham and Hale Irwin. The seven championship golf courses in Los Cabos will test your skill but all are playable. Low handicap players will find them challenging and will appreciate the genius and skill that went into their designs. Less experienced players will be rewarded with incredible scenery and the thrill of playing one championship course after another in a twenty-mile area. The magnificent terrain is comparable to that found in Arizona and California desert courses but what makes Los Cabos even better is the Sea of Cortéz, a sparkling water wonderland of incredible hues reaching as far as the eye can see. The desert has been used creatively to minimize impact on the habitat along all of the course corridors, taking advantage of the wildlife and preserving the wash, giving golfers an exciting experience.
As any golfer knows, every golf course is different. Los Cabos offers an ample and intriguing variety of courses to challenge players of all levels. It's not just the selection, quality and beauty of the courses in Los Cabos, the reason so many choose to play here is the very reliable weather. Golfers here have an added bonus, rain-free play eleven months of the year. The unparalleled beauty and warm hospitality of the Los Cabos community combined with world class golf will make your stay a memorable one. Tee-off and play some of North America's finest golf while being fanned by gentle ocean breezes on one of the many renowned championship courses of Los Cabos.
The Palmilla Golf Club, Latin America's first Jack Nicklaus signature course, is called 'one of the most spectacular I've ever seen' by the designer himself. With 27 holes featuring the Ocean, Arroyo and Mountain nines, the course has panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez from nearly every hole as it winds through centuries-old cardon cacti and rugged desert mountain terrain. The 900-acre seaside golf resort community is centered around the Hotel Palmilla, one of Mexico's premier hideaways built in 1956. Green fees include cart, bottled water and use of the driving range. Ray Metz is the Palmilla course resident PGA Pro. Club rentals and instruction are available.
Jack Nicklaus at Cabo del Sol (Ocean Course) The Cabo del Sol resort property is 1,500 acres with two miles of stunning coastline overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Offering a unique contrast between desert, mountain and ocean views, this is where Jack Nicklaus created The Ocean Course at Playa Barco Verado with 1.5 miles of coastline. Considered by some to be the most challenging in Los Cabos, even those who don't agree say it is of spectacular design and thrilling to play. Don't be fooled by the wide and welcoming first hole. Golf Magazine named Cabo del Sol to its 'Top 100 Courses in the World', rating it 68th. Plenty of arroyos, sand traps and other obstacles make play very interesting. Nicklaus has called the ocean finishing holes 'three of the finest holes in all of golf'. Tom Weiskopf designed Cabo del Sol's Mountain Course which spreads across 140 acres of gently rolling desert terrain and incorporates large landing areas and new forced carries to ensure an enjoyable golf experience for players of all levels. Cabo del Sol will have its new Vista course, a Mark Parsinen/Tom Doak design, open in 2004. Brad Wheatley is the Head PGA Pro of Cabo del Sol. Club rentals and lessons are available.
Robert Trent Jones II at Cabo Real A Robert Trent Jones II-designed course, Cabo Real opened in 1993. The course is known for its magnificent holes along the Sea of Cortez that sit high on mesas overlooking the sea. It is a classic design laid over more than 7,000 yards of verdant landscape with three oceanfront holes. This course will test low handicappers, but multiple tees make it enjoyable for average players as well. A picturesque and diverse course, Cabo Real features rolling fairways with strategically placed bunkers on narrow terrain that work their way up to the 6th tee, 460 feet above sea level. Jaime Diaque is the Head PGA Pro. Club rentals and lessons are available.
Eldorado Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus signature course within the Cabo Real resort, is the newest Nicklaus design in Los Cabos and a winner in all respects. The oceanfront course offers ocean views from almost every hole and golfers say the vistas are so distracting it's hard to keep your mind on the game. Eldorado features a unique combination of oceanfront and desert canyon golf. Carved out of some of the most difficult terrain in Los Cabos, playing this spectacular design will kindle a golfer's passion for both the game and Baja California Sur as a world-class golf destination. Jaime Diaque is the Head PGA Pro. Club rentals and lessons are available.
Raven (formerly Cabo San Lucas Country Club) Closer to Cabo San Lucas is the Cabo San Lucas Country Club and the Raven golf course, designed by Roy and Matt Dye. This is the only course with a view to Land's End. Different designers in the Dye family created the front and back nines, so the course plays like two different courses. Characteristic of Dye-designs, it has deep waste bunkers, subtle terracing up hillsides and holes built into the natural desert terrain. The course is designed to offer a variety of play options, from a short course played on front tees to super-long numerous bunkers and hazards. It's laid out for easy traversing. The Golf Academy at Cabo San Lucas Country Club offers programs for players of all skill levels. Club rentals are available. Eric Grinderend is the PGA Pro.
Querencia (Private) Tom Fazio, world-renowned golf course architect, designed this 18-hole Championship Golf Course, the first private course in the Los Cabos area.
